Preventative Care
Why is this important?
We believe the best treatment is prevention. With growing research showing a strong connection between oral health and overall health, we empower our patients through personalized care, education, and recommendations designed to prevent future problems and support lifelong wellness.
Regular Dental Checkups
We recommend seeing the dentist every 6 months for an exam and cleaning.
Sealants
Period of tooth eruption is considered a risk factor for caries, and sealants offer a protective coating on the deepest part of the tooth and prevent cavities by sealing out food and bacteria.
Fluoride
Fluoride helps slow and prevent cavities by strengthening teeth and making them more resistant to acid. Fluoride treatments are recommended based on each patient’s individual cavity risk.
Periodontal/Gum Disease Treatment
The periodontium is the foundation of your teeth. Gum disease often has no visible symptoms, but studies show that two-thirds of North Americans aged 65 and older are affected. Periodontal treatment helps manage the disease and prevent it from progressing.
Mouth Guards
A thorough dental exam may reveal parafunctional habits such as nighttime grinding. While a night guard does not stop grinding, it helps protect your teeth from excessive wear.
